The Action Downtown

Tauranga’s Avenue Pizza has long been serving up its huge, sublime pizzas, and finally Mount folk can get a slice of the action. Avenue Squared is now in the space briefly occupied by Takeaway Pizza, with pizzas such as pepperoni, roast mushroom and meatball, and sides of fried chicken with pickles, and garlic bread. The bar showcases brews from The Island Brewery, along with usual bar offerings.

Just around the corner, Italian gem Alpino is summer ready, with a refurb that included a gorgeous new oak bar and fresh paint job. It now stays open until 1am, with an Italian speakeasy vibe kicking off after dining winds down. A very welcome grown-up addition to the Mount’s bar scene.
