If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a surfer but have found that the reality is a little more wipeout than water goddess/god, heading to a screening of the Aotearoa Surf Film Festival (ASFF) provides a way to live out your surfing fantasies vicariously without the danger of a board to the head. It’s the twelfth year of the ASFF, a venture set up to celebrate the best of surf culture, cinema and our connection with the environment. The festival team is stoked with this year’s line-up, having received some incredible local and international films — keep an eye on the ASFF socials for more information about the films on the roster. There’ll be audience giveaways at each screening, plus anyone who buys a ticket is in a draw to win a Bear Bones Surf Co surfboard valued at $1099.
